Meet the practitioner

A wellness wayfinder, Dr. Kirsten (Kyungjin) Park, is a New York and New Jersey board-licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist certified in Oriental Medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She received her Master of Science in 2014 and her Doctorate of Acupuncture in 2016 both from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. In addition to acupuncture, Dr. Park has experience with other forms of Oriental medicine such as cupping, gua-sha, tui-na, and Chinese herbs.

What is acupuncture?

An ancient medical system that has been practiced for thousands of years, acupuncture is the manipulation of the body’s energy through the insertion of fine needles at specified points on the body. This energy is referred to as Qi (pronounced Chee). Acupuncture helps to re-order and strengthen the Qi and thereby eliminate underlying conditions and symptoms.

What is cupping?

By applying negative pressure, cupping gently pulls the muscles and fascia upwards and draws toxins to the surface of the skin where the immune system is better able to eliminate them. This negative pressure also helps promote healthy circulation throughout the entire body.
